Further to My blog Published regarding the Sale of Amul goods, far over and above the MRP, I received a call from Mr Satish Shelke of their Regional Head office in Mumbai who assured me of Swift action against Himalaya cold drinks. He further informed me that adequate Margins are provided in the MRP to specially take into consideration administrative costs and in particular refrigeration costs, and as per the Government of India Guidelines, not even an single paisa can be charged over and above the MRP under any circumstances whatsover, as this is Gross Collective violation of the Manufacturer/packager and seller "across the counter", and is punishable under law. I appeal to all, not to succumb to this gross violation of consumer sales and to stand up not only for your Individual rights but also protect the others and specially the illiterate and poor.

The store refuses to sell the Goods as per the MRP even after being reminded about the same, Enclosed is a Bill of sale as proof of Purchase and violation of the norms It must be noted that both Amul as well as Himalaya Cold drinks are bound to sell Goods adhering to the norms of the Maximum retail price laid down by the Government and are both Liable, Individually as well as collectively for violations of the same This type of violation has to stop immediately and strict remedial actions need to be taken
