A BLEND OF ARROGANCE AND INCOMPETENCE
A short stroll in your area is reasonably adequate for a person to see the chaos in the city. It is total breakdown of law and order and the forceful arrogance of our citizens is painted all over the atmosphere.
It is blasphemy to even suggest that a basic law has been broken as you are jeered and threatened by these lawbreakers. You then wonder in introspect as to whether you really are safe in this environment and as to what social fabric exists, to protect you when you are just trying to be on the right side of the law.
Therefore, what options does a person have when the entire mass of this country decides to break the law as if it were their right to do so? Does one go to the police with a grievance for appropriate Redressals and try to explain to them, that the law is being broken right in front of their very eyes? Well try doing it, and you will only get frustrated in absolute terms. Nothing would ever happen. As for reasons best known to all it is very convenient to get away with lawbreaking as long as the law enforcers are kept in a Wealthful frame of mind.
The law in this country is a matter of convenience and not a constitutional right any more or at least it seems not to be so. We wonder as to which quarters are the administrators so busy, that they find it a waste of time and resources, to enforce the law and that too on those lawbreakers, who are doing it in front of their very eyes.
I guess the law enforcers are simply not bothered and adequate illustrations are required to lay strength to these statements.
If anyone is familiar with the stretch between kemps corner and Mahalaxmi temple, they would know the total chaos that exists on this stretch of road that is termed as Bhulabhai Desai road.
The chaos exists on many accounts – cars are parked in the no parking areas right under the eyes of the police, who fortunately, for those car owners and the shop owners just seemed to have gone blind out of convenience, hawkers are allowed to carry on their business on pavements meant for pedestrians to walk and vehicles are permitted to be parked on these pavements too. What do you think is going to happen? Exactly what is happening now- horns blaring, pedistrians obstructing traffic, illegal traffic obstructing pedestrians, and total chaotic conditions.
Are the police to blame alone? The answer is a firm no! The ever rich and the influential community that is spiraling out if control including the so-called “very cultured” business and industrial houses are equal partners in crime.
Given above are photographs taken for all to see. Just to exemplify, illustrated are two organizations that supposedly flaunt thier heritage and culture to promote thier business and one even boasts on their website that they are the most law-abiding citizens of this country. You need, only to see these photos to realize the falsity in their claims. What is more alarming is that if these organizations blatantly disregard the law day in and day out how could a person ever trust the products or services that they manufacture ,trade or sell to the common man? I for one would never trust them or their products as the promoters who control these organizations have just illustrated their arrogance by their lawbreaking in the simplest way and God knows best the extent of thier carnage. Nothing more needs to be added, as conclusions are not difficult to make.
It is time that we exercise our constitutional rights and make our environments congenial to a better and healthy future for the generations to come
Thank you
